Historical Perspective

Emerging Technologies - Advanced Concepts™

Pongsatorn P. Sukhum left Philips Semiconductors in 1994 after spending six years working on special projects, which included creating a world-wide Statistical Process Control application for product disposition known as Cpkal/Wave. During 1994 and early 1995 he continued to develop process improvement applications for Philips as well as consult on several other networking projects.

The "wave" name stuck, and "Infowave" was founded in 1995, as a consulting firm specializing in Emerging Technologies. Infowave immediately formed technology alliances with Netscape, Rational, IONA, ILOG, ObjectStore, and JavaSoft, thus becoming one of the original companies in S.E. Asia to provide Object-Oriented technology training and consulting services.

A formal business partnership with Rational was expanded in 1998 when Infowave became an International Distributor for Rational products in Thailand. We also became the only independent certified training organization in the region that offered Rational's UML course.

In 1999, Software Park Thailand identified a need to develop a team of CMM instructors and lead assessors to help raise the process maturity of the local software industry. Infowave was selected based upon our history in process improvement, and access to world class software development processes and tools.

Our focus today is on developing commercial military software applications based, naturally, on Object-Oriented technology...
